Barcelona filled the hole in the budget with the final transfer of Antoine Griezmann to Atletico. The French forward has been a member of the Wanda Metropolitano team since Monday.

Antoine Griezmann, sold by Barcelona to Atletico Madrid for just 20 million euros

In July 2019, Barcelona paid his €120 million release clause and Antoine Griezmann arrived at Camp Nou.

However, the Frenchman’s development never lived up to expectations or the transfer fee, and in the summer of 2021 the Catalans sent the striker back to the group he left.

At Atletico, Antoine is a different player, and the Madrid group managed to get the player back on Monday.

According to AFP, in exchange for the player, “Barcelona” will receive 20 million euros, as well as several million more depending on the player’s performances.

“Atletico Madrid and FC Barcelona have reached an agreement on the transfer of Antoine Griezmann, who has played for our club from the summer of 2021 until today, on loan from Barca,” said the press release of Atletico Madrid.

Griezmann (31 years old) signed a contract with Madrid “Atletico” until 2026.
