Russian President Vladimir Putin is celebrating his 70th birthday today.a his birthday, while Russia’s invasion of Ukraine continues, causing problems, losses, discomfort and criticism of the Kremlin leadership.
In a “festive” spirit, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow asked the townspeople to pray for two days for the health and longevity of 70-year-old Putin, whom “God put in power,” as Kirill characteristically claimed.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, Tajik President Imomali Rahmon and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un also sent their wishes.
Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov sent a warm video greeting, noting that Putin had helped “liberate” Chechnya from “terrorism”.
