On Saturday morning, a powerful explosion rang out on the Kerch Bridge, which connects Crimea with Russia, and the first hypothesis of the Russians is that a truck detonated while crossing the bridge, having released footage from surveillance cameras. But some things don’t seem to be connected…

Where did the explosion actually take place? On the bridge, under the bridge, on the water?
Footage captured by video cameras on the bridge actually shows the truck driving along the roadway of the bridge, exactly where the explosion occurred a moment later.
Footage along the bridge shows the exact moment of the explosion, but on closer inspection it appears that the “center” of the explosion is to the right of the bridge, somewhere on/over the water, not in the center of the roadway. where was the truck

Other footage showing part of the bridge’s piers shows a truck passing by and an explosion, but at the same time as the deflagration, some unnatural waves can be seen right under the bridge. Some netizens suggested that there could have been a trap boat that detonated as soon as it got under the bridge.
We will remind you that the Russians recently found an unmanned kamikaze boat on the beaches of Crimea, which probably belonged to Ukrainians.

How did a truck with explosives get through Russian security filters?
On Saturday morning, Russian media published images of a so-called trap truck that allegedly arrived from Krasnodar, Russia.
In another video, it can be seen how the specified truck was checked by Russian law enforcement officers, and it was also searched for in a TIR trailer. Given the size of the light blast, one would assume that the booby-trapped truck would have to carry a fairly large amount of explosives. Then how come nothing happened to him when he passed the security filter?

In addition, according to Nexta, the security filters at the entrance to the Kerch Bridge are among the most advanced with the ability to detect explosive materials. How could the trap truck get past these filters?
By the way, it is not so easy to go to the Crimean bridge

What do the Russians say: how would the explosion have happened / There are no victims, although the footage shows a car driving close to the gangway?
Russia’s National Anti-Terrorism Committee said the explosion occurred at 6:07 a.m. in a truck and set fire to seven tank cars on a train bound for the peninsula.
- “At six minutes past seven on the car side of the Crimean bridge from the side of the Taman peninsula, a truck detonated, which led to the ignition of seven fuel tanks of a train heading to the Crimean peninsula,” the message reads. reported
- As CNA reports, two sections of the road bridge partially collapsed. The Crimean authorities reported in the morning that there were no casualties.
The fact that there were no casualties, according to the Russian authorities, is another strange element. Not only would at least the driver of the trap truck have little chance of escaping such a powerful blast, but at least one other driver would have been directly hit.
More precisely, the footage along the bridge clearly shows how another car was moving in the second lane, right next to the suspicious truck, which could explode at that moment. Considering how powerful the explosion was in the footage, it is unlikely that anyone in the car escaped alive.
