
OUR Jada Pinkett Smith will release his memoir next fall about her rise to fame and her “difficult marriage to Will Smithaccording to Dey Street Books on Thursday.
The book collects the stories of the actress and the presenter, in particular, “a difficult but exciting journey … from the depths of depression and suicidal tendencies to the heights of self-discovery and the glorification of true female power.” The official title of the book has not yet been revealed.
According to Day Street Books, the book details Smith’s upbringing as the daughter of parents who struggled with addiction, studying acting, and her addiction to drugs before she became a Hollywood star. The book also chronicles Smith’s close friendship with rapper Tupac Shakur and her romance with Will. Finally, he will reveal the beautiful moments of motherhood.
“People put up so many signs and told so many stories about Jad. It has to do with the reality of the media landscape as well as the roles that have been imposed on women by culture,” said Carrie Thornton, vice president of Dey Street Books.
“At the center of the speculation and false stories is a woman who, like many others, has had to reconcile her personality with the needs of those she loves. This book is about Jada telling the world her truth, taking readers on a journey from a “lost” girl to a female wrestler.”
