“The record for the largest number of personal sanctions imposed on a person, with 15 sanctions, belongs to Ramzan Kadyrov,” said Stanislav Konenko, editor-in-chief of the Book of Russian Records, quoted by TASS, Agerpres notes.

The “award” was presented during the 204th anniversary of the documentary certification of the capital of Chechnya, the city of Grozny, which is timed to the 47th anniversary of the Chechen leader.

Kadyrov also received a certificate certifying that he holds the record for the number of sanctions in the world imposed on a person, his family and his followers.

“I am on the sanctions list because I defend Islam, our traditions and customs and the security of our country. Nothing is more important to me. That’s why I’m happy,” Kadyrov said after receiving the certificate.

The Chechen leader previously boasted that he was the most sanctioned person internationally, ahead of even North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

He assured that there are at least 70 sanctions against him, his family and supporters, his property and the organizations he heads.
