Franck Ribery retires from football at the age of 39 and a half

Currently a player for Salernitana, Ribéry continues to have problems with his knees, which hastened his retirement from professional sports.

Vice-champion of the world in 2006 as part of the French national team, Frank impressed the most in the form of Bayern Munich (he stayed in Bavaria for 12 seasons).

The French midfielder played the last official match on August 14 this year, in the game “Salernitana” lost to “Roma” (0:1) in the first stage of the new Serie A season.

Ribéry played just 36 minutes and it would be his last appearance in professional football.

Severe knee pain forced the technical French midfielder to withdraw.

Ribery played for the French national team for eight years, from 2006 to 2014.

Throughout his career, Frank played for the following teams: Boulogne (2000-2002), Ales (2002-2003), Brest (2003-2004), Metz (2004-2005), Galatasaray (2005), Marseille (2005-2007), Bayern Munich (2007-2019), Fiorentina (2019-2021) and Salernitana (2021).

With Bayern Munich, he won, among others, nine Bundesliga titles, the Champions League (2013), the European Super Cup (2013) and the Club World Cup (2013).
