Launched in 2019, it competes with the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer Mercedes B-class the third generation (Type 247) now offers a discreet restyling of the middle class with some aesthetic changes, but above all a simplification of the range and equipment.

Only a trained eye will be able to recognize this restyling, which is mainly focused on front edgewith a slightly redesigned screen and grille, complemented by the introduction of a new light signature for the LED lights, both front and rear.

Mercedes Class B restyling: slightly retouched style

His style is also distinguished by his arrival new disks of light alloy with a diameter of up to 19 inches, among which we find, as an option in the AMG line, a model with a multi-spoke design, painted in gloss black, with a gloss rim.

Inside, there are also some subtle modifications to note, such as the disappearance of the touchpad on the center console, replaced by 10.25-inch central touchscreen in diameter instead of the 7 inches that used to be at the entry level. The steering wheel also gets a makeover with a new design and touch controls, while the MBUX infotainment system remains with a retouched design and improved voice commands.

Restyled Mercedes B-Class: electrified engines

Under the hood, the engine lineup has been revised, now 5 options are available: two engines gasoline microhybrids 136 hp (B 180) and 163 hp (B 200), two engines diesel 116 hp (B 180 d) and 150 hp (B 200 d), not forgetting the version gasoline hybrid 218 hp and 450 Nm (B 250 e).

The plug-in hybrid version has an improved battery, now offering a 100% electric range of 77 km according to the WLTP cycle. The charger is also faster, with 11kW AC (up from 7.4kW previously) and 22kW DC.

Mercedes Class B restyling: updated range

In France, the Mercedes B-Class range has been simplified, with a fairly well-equipped version of the “Progressive Line” as the access trim, which, among other things, has LED lights, a motorized tailgate, a rear-view camera, park assist, lumbar support for the driver. seats, a leather steering wheel, compatibility with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a USB-C port.

Restyled Mercedes B-Class can be ordered the end of October 2022, at rates to be announced later. The first deliveries are planned for the beginning of 2023.
