Europe has agreed to phase out the use of heat engines by 2035. However, the fuel tax is an important source of revenue for the French state. https://t.co/M17WH4kOC3

Since the beginning of the year, everything is the same. Indeed, fuel prices have been rising for several months, unfortunately for motorists. Because, to be honest, if they have dropped a bit at times, it’s nothing compared to the sharp rise that has affected all drivers across France. And it is not for nothing that since the beginning of the war in Ukraine in February of last year, the amount of gasoline and diesel fuel has increased sharply, sometimes exceeding the two-euro mark. The amount that can still be seen at some service stations. Fortunately, the 30 cent discount imposed by the government allowed this increase to be reduced, especially since TotalEnergies was also playing the 20 cent discount game.
I am introducing a bill aimed at reducing gasoline taxes in the face of record high fuel prices and taxing oil company dividends.

Rising prices
While prices have been falling almost continuously for a month, they are finally starting to rise again. in diesel really went up in price by 3.6 cents per liter, which will be reflected on average in France at 1.69 euros according to the latest estimate of the Ministry of Ecological Transition. And it’s not exactly better when it comes to gas. Indeed, unleaded 95 E10 also cost 3.1 euro cents per litre, which averages out to €1.51. Fortunately, there is a discount! For its part, unleaded 95 rose 2.6 cents, or €1.57 per liter, while SP98 gained 2.9 cents (€1.62 per liter).

A climb that can last
Unfortunately, it seems that the situation is not yet ready for a long-term improvement. In early September, UFC-Que Choisir did state about the price drop that ” this situation clearly remains a lull, not a return to normalcy“. Indeed, we must not forget that from November 1 the discount will drop to 10 cents, and then prices should soar again. An increase which must therefore last until“a big fall is not expected at this moment…
The used car market in the United States is booming.
During the epidemic, many people want to have a cheap car to avoid public transport.
Even if it means reselling when things get back to normal.
