The package, which will be pulled directly from US stockpiles, also includes 16 155mm howitzers and 16 105mm howitzers along with their ammunition, the official also said, according to News.ro.

This aid package will provide Ukraine with a total of 20 HIMARS systems, which the Ukrainian military has successfully used against Russian forces.

With RSMZ munitions from the HIMARS missile, the Ukrainians delivered high-precision strikes on logistics centers, command posts and ammunition depots of the Russian troops.

Last week, The US announced a $1.1 billion military aid package within the framework of the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI), which included another 18 HIMARS.

The HIMARS systems in this package will be purchased from arms manufacturers, the production and delivery process will take longer, but the package is intended for the defense of Ukraine in the medium and long term.

Thus, in total, since the start of the Russian invasion on February 24, Washington has offered Ukraine more than $16 billion, along with this $625 million package.
