Currently there are changes on the side of Peugeot! A few weeks ago, the lion firm really opened the curtain on its new e-308, a 100% electric version of its compact star, updated last year. A few days later it was the turn of the e-208, which offered some changes, with a completely new engine and increased power. Not to mention autonomy, which has also made a small leap forward and now hovers around 400 kilometers. But the rest of the assortment is not neglected, although the company only offered some improvements 3008 and 5008updated throughout 2020 and still a great success.

New engine
Indeed, the two SUVs are about to get a completely new engine Pure technology an entity that will expand the current range. Then it’s a block of 136 horses that reveals very little about it so far. All we know is that it will be powered by a 48-volt mild hybrid system coupled with a new electrified gearbox double clutch. Then it will be possible to drive around the city for 1 kilometer in zero-emission mode at low speed, which will reduce consumption by about 15% compared to a standard gasoline engine. However, we will still have to wait before knowing the price of this new version, as well as its release date.
.
A new generation will come
This new alternative should allow customers to wait a little while waiting for the next generation 3008 and 5008. It really should see the light of day by 2024. Note that other models like the 408 or 308 and 508 are likely to be equipped with this new engine. It’s possible that the upcoming facelifted Peugeot 208 will also benefit from it, but the Sochaux brand has yet to confirm anything. So be patient…
