OUR Sean Pennwho recently found himself near the front lines of the Ukrainian war, will play a fictionalized version of himself in an Australian-made satirical series calledCAUGHT“.
This is an original production from Stan’s streaming service and production has begun at the Fox Studios in Sydney.
“C*A*U*G*H*T” consists of six episodes and follows four Australian soldiers who are sent on a secret mission to a war-torn country. They are mistaken for Americans, captured and filmed with a hostage video that goes viral. When the soldiers are now recognized by many – like celebrities – they understand that their captivity is probably the best thing that has ever happened to them.
The series, which will be released internationally, is the creation of Australian actor and director Kick Garry (Edge of Tomorrow), who will co-star alongside Penn. The latter also took over production alongside John and Michael Schwartz (“Danger Close: The Battle of Long Tan,” “Gold”).
Penn was in Ukraine for several weeks from February to April filming a documentary about Russia’s invasion of the country. During this time, he met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who appeared online in many institutions with the aim of informing the world about everything that was happening and enlisting the support of the people to fight the resistance.
