Support for the territorial integrity of Armenia

Her support Greece in its territorial integrity Armeniareferring to the cases of shelling of the territory of the country by the Azerbaijani armed forces a few days ago, the Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed yesterday from Yerevan Nikos Dendias, who had contacts with the leadership of Armenia. Mr. Dendia’s support for Armenia’s territorial integrity is in the context of what French President Emmanuel Macron recently said in calling for peace and resumption of negotiations, and in the spirit of the speaker of the House of Representatives. Nancy Pelosi, who by her presence in Yerevan, in fact, drew attention to Armenia, while she was under attack on the territory of her internationally recognized territory (and not in Nagorno-Karabakh). Contacts of Mr. Dendias with his Armenian counterpart, as well as with the Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of the country began last week after a trilateral meeting of Greece, the Republic of Cyprus and Armenia on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.

And a message to Turkey from N. Dendias, who visited Yerevan yesterday.

Mr. Dendias also sent a message to Ankara from Yerevan. He stated, among other things, that “Turkey is protesting because Greece does not leave its territories undefended. Who; Turkey, which has launched a casus belli, threatening war against Greece, and having the largest landing fleet just a few miles from the islands of the Aegean. The Minister of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed Athens’ readiness to re-start a “constructive dialogue with Turkey on the basis of international law.” In addition, he stressed that there is readiness to protect sovereign rights. Finally, it should be noted that yesterday Deputy Foreign Minister Miltiadis Varvitsiotis had a brief meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu in Japan, at the state funeral of slain Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. According to the information, Mr. Varvitsiotis asked Mr. Tsavousoglu to lower his tone. “Shall we continue like this? The tone must be lowered, we can’t continue like this,” Mr. Varvitsiotis reportedly said.
