
“Magnetic fields” from George Gusis, probably the most talked about Greek movie we’ve seen lately will also be the one that will claim a place in the universe Oscar at this year’s event.
Thus, the film by Giorgos Gusis was chosen to represent Greece at the 95th Academy Awards and therefore lays claim to the title Oscar for International Feature Film, as announced by YPPOA.
He chose the official candidacy of Greece committee of seven which was created solely for this purpose.
The committee met in a meeting and after careful deliberation by a majority vote, they proposed “Magnetic Fields”, as they considered that this is a film that speaks directly to the viewer, at the same time, it can withstand an international audience, as it deals with a universal problem, the problem of an existential crisis. Deputy Minister of Culture and Sports, in charge of contemporary culture, Nicolas Giatromanolakis, agreed with the opinion of the commission and made the appropriate decision.
The Ministry of Culture and Sports will ensure that the procedures for representing Greece at the 95th Academy Awards are completed in a timely manner in accordance with the rules of the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
