Formula 1 drivers earn quite a bit of salary, and Independent.co.uk journalists have published the full list of their earnings for the 2022 Grand Prix season.

Westappen and Hamilton, the biggest salaries – the veteran Alonso, on the podium

Despite the missed season (far from personal and fan expectations), Lewis Hamilton continues to be at the top of the salaries in Formula 1.

The Brit shared first place with last season’s rival Max Verstappen. Both will receive a salary of £40m each for the current season.

The third in the hierarchy is the veteran Fernando Alonso (40) with a salary of 15 million pounds.

Lando Norris (McLaren) is fourth with £12 million, followed by Sebastian Vettel and Daniel Ricciardo (each with £11 million).

Mick Schumacher (son of the famous Michael Schumacher) is somewhere at the very bottom of the hierarchy, with a salary of £730,800 per season.

The next Grand Prix in the competition calendar will be the Singapore State Grand Prix on October 2. The race will be held on the Marina Bay track.
