
DS Automobiles is taking advantage of the opening of Paris Fashion Week to present new restyled DS 3, which, like the larger DS 7, ditched the “Crossback” moniker for the occasion. Released in 2018, the small urban SUV received a mid-range restyling, which is mainly recognizable by its redesigned front end.
The facelifted DS 3 does revisit its chrome DS Wings grille to do just that a little less ostentatious : the chrome “wings” that expand below the headlights have been removed and replaced by a small, more discreet insert. The radiator grille with chrome faces has a more refined edge, and the new DS Matrix LED Vision headlights have a look that is complemented new vertical LED daytime running lights.
DS 3 restyling: new customization options
There’s little change at the rear, apart from the appearance of a new gloss black strip that replaces the chrome strip that connects the two taillights: it’s covered with the words ‘DS Automobiles’ instead of the previous mention of ‘Crossback’. Inside, no big revolution, except for the appearance new leather and fabric upholsteryas well as a new infotainment system with a Touch screen 10.3 inches.
The facelifted DS 3 also features new personalization options such as his two completely new shades “Red Diva” and “Lacquered Grey”. with new wheels 17 and 18 inches, with a more aerodynamic design, also make an appearance, not to mention a new bonnet badge with a ‘Clous de Paris’ motif. The Performance Line version is equipped with a “black package” that changes the acronyms and chrome inserts to shiny black.

Restyled DS 3: new under the hood
Gone under the hood is the 155bhp 1.2-litre PureTech petrol engine, but its 100bhp and 130bhp versions are still offered in the range, as is the 130bhp 1.5-litre BlueHDi diesel.
The main novelty concerns the 100% electric version called DS 3 E-Tense: it is currently being developed 156 horsepower and 260 Nm of torque, or 20 additional horsepower compared to the first opus, with a 400-volt architecture. The new battery with a capacity of 54 kWh (50.8 useful kWh) provides 402 kilometers of autonomy in the WLTP mixed cycle and more than 500 km in the city. It can be charged in approximately 25 minutes using the onboard 100kW DC charger or 5 hours using the 11kW AC charger.
