A 41-year-old man was arrested in Peristeri by officers of the Attica Security Directorate Property Crime Prosecutor’s Office, who is accused of robbery after and for violating the Gun Act.

According to ELAS, shortly before the arrest, a 41-year-old man, with his facial features covered, broke into a bank branch in the Kolonos area and took out a sum of money from the bank at gunpoint. cash machine.

The accused was identified by the police as a criminal who had committed an armed robbery of a bank and EL.TA stores in various parts of Attica. It is noted that a special police group was created to detect and detain him.

A 41-year-old man broke into bank branches, possibly using a hat, a surgical mask, sunglasses, a helmet, a hood, immobilizing employees at gunpoint and took money from cash registers. . In some cases, he actually asked for a sum of money to be transferred to him, putting it in an envelope. Immediately after that, he forced the employee to open the double security door of the main entrance, through which he escaped.

During a search of his home and on the motorcycle he used as a means of escape, the following were found and confiscated: an air pistol worth 7,960 euros, a cloth face shield, sunglasses and some of the clothing he had used in committing robbery attacks.

So far, five cases of robberies in bank branches and one in the post office have been uncovered. The detainee has been taken to the Athenian Criminal Prosecutor’s Office, while the police investigation is ongoing.
