Forty four. That’s what the name QuarantaQuattro stands for, which is the new crop of this year’s Panerai Submersible models. The new diving series premiered at Watches & Wonders 2022 in April and complements the 42mm and 47mm Submersible models already part of the main Panerai collection. In fact, the 44mm size will become the go-to for an iconic diving watch collection. All the hallmarks of the Submersible collection are present in the design of the new QuarantaQuattro: a case water-resistant to 300 meters, equipped with a patented crown protection system and a unidirectional rotating bezel for counting dive time.

The extremely sharp dial guarantees excellent readability even in total darkness of the sea floor thanks to the large hands and hour markers coated with white Super-LumiNova.

The date window on 3 has been improved in design to make it even more readable. This important detail will be adopted throughout the Submersible collection in the future. Meet the new versions of Submersible QuarantaQuattro.

PANERAI submersible QuarantaQuattro Carbotech™ Blue abyssos

The leader in terms of construction materials is undoubtedly the Submersible QuarantaQuattro Carbotech Blu Abisso (PAM01232), made from the lightest material Panerai has ever used in a watch. Its case is made of Carbotech, a carbon fiber synthetic material with very interesting properties: hypoallergenic, strong and hard, lighter than titanium and extremely resistant to corrosion and scratches. And thanks to its black uneven waters, each case is unique and therefore unique.

Like a genuine diving watch, it is water resistant to a depth of 300 meters and features a unidirectional rotating dive time bezel with metal appliques filled with white Super-LumiNova, as well as a patented crown protection bridge that is inextricably linked to Panerai’s history in depths. The watch is completed with a strap in the same blue tone as the dial. Its price is 18,300 euros.

In addition to the Carbotech model, the Submersible QuarantaQuattro collection also consists of two models in steel, the first with a white dial and military olive rubber strap (PAM01226) and the second with a black dial and black rubber strap (PAM01229).

PANERAI Submersible QuarantaQuattro Luna Ross

A special edition created in collaboration with the Italian team Luna Rossa Challenge, which will represent the sailing group Circolo della Vela Sicilia at the 37th America’s Cup sailing rally.

The watch case is made of steel, while the dial and strap are made in the colors of the Luna Rossa team: blue and red. This is a limited edition of 1,500 pieces priced at 10,000 euros.

All models in the Submersible QuarantaQuattro collection are powered by the P.900 automatic caliber, which beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour and provides three days of battery life.

Panerai is a company with a strong environmental sense, and every year it proves it more and more. You may remember that in 2021, the company introduced a 30-piece collector’s edition of the Submersible eLAB-ID concept watch, which is made almost entirely from recycled materials, 98.6% to be exact! But that’s not all. The company has consciously chosen to make public the names of all the companies it has worked with to achieve this result, thereby making them available to the entire watchmaking world so that they can “lead the way” in the fight for sustainability and be able to move on. faster towards this goal. Panerai also introduced three Submersible QuarantaQuattro models this year, made from eSteel, a recycled steel alloy. The goal is for the brand to use only recycled steel in the future.
