According to government sources, the prime minister briefed his Israeli counterpart. “for the extremely aggressive rhetoric of the Turkish political leadership and its unacceptable statements challenging the sovereignty of Greece, emphasizing that they undermine stability and security in the Eastern Mediterranean.”

According to the same sources, the meeting took place in a warm atmosphere reflecting the strategic relationship between the two countries. The two leaders had the opportunity to exchange views on bilateral political, defense and economic relations, on the progress of trilateral cooperation schemes, and on developments in the Eastern Mediterranean. Cooperation issues were discussed both at the bilateral and trilateral levels (Greece-Cyprus-Israel cooperation scheme), with an emphasis on energy cooperation.

Finally, as emphasized, both sides agreed to continue efforts to develop relations between Greece and Israel for the benefit of the two peoples, while working to strengthen the spirit of cooperation that will enhance security and stability in the wider region.
