Several Deportivo Cali fans stormed the pitch during Wednesday’s 2-0 loss against Cortulo in the thirteenth round of the Colombian soccer championship.

In the 81st minute, fans left the stands of the stadium in the city of Tulua and invaded the field.

Most of the players and referees ran away, while some Cali players remained on the field and were heckled by fans unhappy with the team’s crisis.

Teofilo Gutierrez, a former member of the Colombian national team and former River Plate striker, was surrounded by several fans who punched and kicked him, News.ro reported.

Law enforcement officers, who were present at the match in large numbers, could not stop the angry fans.
