In the supermarket of Bystrytsia, a man was caught on video while using a new method of theft. He filled the basket with products, took the basket out of the store at the express checkouts, and then left the supermarket at the checkout, without having any products with him and without paying.

According to News.ro from the district inspection of the gendarmerie of the Neseud district, the theft attempt took place on Monday morning in a supermarket in Bystrica.

Gendarmes say that a 49-year-old man from Slatyna was choosing from the shelves of a hypermarket in Bystrica a variety of food products – meat, vegetables, coffee and sweets, which he filled a cart with. He walked past the register with no intention of paying them.

“The method used by the mentioned man was at least novel: he pushed a basket full of products into the area of ​​the express checkouts, after which he went to the auxiliary checkouts,” say the gendarmes.

The representatives of the store demanded the intervention of the authorities, a team of gendarmes in the area stopped the man and filed a theft report in his name, which was handed over to the police for further investigation.

According to the cited source, the total value of the products the man tried to steal is almost 600 lei.
