In Malmedy, in eastern Belgium, near the borders with Germany and Luxembourg, a series of old Volvo. Some are nearly 50 years old, but still in showroom condition. And that’s enough to saythey are still really waiting at the dealership for their first owner to come and drive it. Unfortunately, they may have to wait a long timeā¦
Frozen in time
Yes! The dealership in question seems to have closed down a long time ago. However, absolutely nothing has changed! The few examples of the Swedish brand that were on display there at the time of the final closure were like being trapped in time! And we see how today some good examples just fall into the dust.
Mostly 240
Among the models that can be seen in the showcase, there are mainly Volvo 240. Released in the mid-1970s, it originally featured round headlights before switching to square ones, as seen in these examples.. The problem with Volvo from the late 70s and early 80s in that they all look alike! Therefore, it is difficult to say whether there is special model which stands out. We’re guessing one of them does have the GL badge, like the Grand Luxe version, but maybe not the best equipped.
