A total of 165 ships with 3.7 million tons of agricultural products on board left Ukraine in accordance with the agreement between the United Nations and Turkey on the unblocking of Ukrainian seaports, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine reported on Sunday, citing Reuters.

The ministry reported that 10 ships with 169.3 thousand tons of agricultural products should leave Ukrainian Black Sea ports on Sunday.

“At 10:00 a.m., 8 ships left the ports of Odesa Maria, 2 more were waiting for their turn and favorable conditions,” the agency said.

Ukraine’s grain exports fell after Russia invaded the country on February 24 and blockaded its Black Sea ports, raising global food prices and raising fears of shortages in Africa and the Middle East.

Ukraine, a major world producer and exporter of grain, supplied up to 6 million tons of grain per month before the war.

According to an agreement signed on July 22 between Moscow and Kyiv, three Black Sea ports have been restored and, according to the ministry, these ports can load and send abroad 100-150 commercial vessels per month. (News.ro)
