​CSM Bucharest decisively defeated Brest Bretagne in the second stage of the Women’s Handball Champions League (Group A) with a score of 33-26.

After a balanced start to the match (6-6), Adrian Vasile’s wards began to distance themselves, leading 17-13 at halftime, and also played better than their opponents in the second half.

The main scorers in CSM Bucharest were Omoreghie with 6 goals, Dembele, Aune, Pintia and Zaadi with 4 each, while Jaukovych scored 7 goals for the hosts.

The evolution of CSM Bucharest was brave, in the conditions in which fatigue accumulated during the journey, which lasted more than 12 hours, the team had to travel, after the Bucharest-Paris flight, about 600 km by bus, on the Paris-Brest route, due to the strike of French air carriers, writes News.ro.

In the first match of Group A, KSM Bucharest defeated Crimea Ljubljana with a score of 30:28, so they have 4 points in the standings (compared to Bittigheim and Vipers Kristiansand).

CSM Bucharest will play its next match at home against Bittigheim on September 25.

Also on Sunday, Bucharest Rapid played an important draw with Metz in Group B, 32-32.
