A strong storm hit the Burgas region on the Black Sea coast, Mediapool reports. A strong wind with a speed of more than 100 km/ha uprooted hundreds of trees and roofs of buildings, and dozens of boats and yachts were swept into the sea. The Bulgarian resort of Pomorie was the most affected.

The storm suddenly hit the Burgas region on Saturday afternoon and passed within ten minutes.

However, it left the disaster behind, as wind speeds reached 100 km/h, according to the Varna Hydrometeorological Observatory.

Fortunately, there are no victims, but the resort of Pomorie was the most affected.

Residents were left without electricity, and roads were blocked due to trees uprooted by strong winds.

Dozens of yachts and boats were taken out to sea, and one person fell overboard, who was saved by other people at sea, reported the regional governor of Burgas.

The strong storm also affected traffic on the Sofia – Plovdiv – Burgas railway.
