Propylaea: Tension at the University Police Demonstration

Tensions arose shortly after 20:00 in the center of Athens during a protest held by student organizations against university police.

Over 500 students gathered in the Propylaea and tried to march through. The police tried to restrict their movement to only one lane of the road.

Spirits, however, sharpened. According to EL.AS, some students were the first to react and started throwing objects at the police.

In turn, the police responded with tear gas and stun guns, and paratroopers were also launched.

The Youth Communist Liberation organization reported on Facebook that the student suffered a facial injury after posting the photo.

It is noted that at the same time a large march was taking place in Thessaloniki.
