A few days after death of Queen Elizabeth II, the first season of the popular Netflix series The Crown has once again added to the list of ten series that subscribers are watching these days. In America, the series ranked seventh, and in Greece, it ranked third in preference. The season premiered with Claire Foy in the title role in 2016 and is dedicated to the ascension to the British throne. Hours after the news of Elizabeth’s death, production on the sixth season was halted as a show of respect.

38 HBO Emmy Awards

HBO returned to the top of the network with the most awards during Monday’s Emmy Awards at the Microsoft Theater. HBO and HBO Max have won a total of 38 Emmy awards, doubling their 19 wins last year. Of course, this triumph, and indeed in important nominations, was helped by ten statuettes won by the White Lotus mini-series. Euphoria won four Emmys in its second season, while HBO Max’s Crackers won three. For some reason, it seems that we are going back to the classic pattern of watching one episode a week, as is the case with White Lotus and Euphoria.
