The British Ministry of Defense said in its assessment on Thursday morning that due to the push of Russian troops from the Kharkiv region, the equipment necessary for the artillery-oriented style of warfare of the occupying forces remained.
- Ukrainian troops continue to consolidate their control over recently liberated areas of the Kharkiv region. Russian troops mostly withdrew from the area west of the Oskil River.
- During the last week, the Russian troops withdrew in different ways. Some units retreated in relatively good order and under control, while others apparently fled in panic.
- The high-value equipment left behind by the retreating Russian forces included the means needed to support Russia’s artillery-centric style of warfare.
- These include at least one ZOOPARK counter-battery radar and at least one IV14 artillery control vehicle.
- This abandonment underscores the disorganized withdrawal of some Russian units and possibly deficiencies in local command and control.
