
Crew members of one of two Greek oil tankers arrested in May Iran in the Persian Gulf, they were able to leave their ship, the Iranian Foreign Ministry said.
“The ship’s crew has been replaced in accordance with international shipping protocols, which is carried out by the shipping companies themselves,” Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani told Isna.
“The previous crew left the oil tanker,” he added, without specifying which vessel it was.
Kanani carefully reiterated today that the crew members were not arrested. “The crew was placed (on the tanker) to do the work,” he said.
