Like the rally in Werthersee, Austria, which caters to fans of the Volkswagen GTI, the ID. Treffen positions itself as an ecological event dedicated to electric mobility.
Organizer ID. Club of drivers, ID. Volkswagen supports Treffen as part of its “Road to Zero” strategy to decarbonize the company’s activities and products. It was within this framework that the German manufacturer presented to the public a a new concept carbaptized Volkswagen ID. Extremealongside other models in the ID range.
Volkswagen ID. Xtreme Concept: a reliable electric SUV
Based on Volkswagen ID.4 GTX, this concept car combines the philosophy of a 100% electric SUV with an all-terrain model designed to get off the beaten path and head for adventure. It off-road model is one of a kind, with authentic adventurer style and increased power.
ID concept. Xtreme has a raised frame rally wheels, 18-inch all-terrain wheels, a stronger front bumper with an integrated arch, or even 50 mm widened 3D-printed fenders. There are also roof bars holding a LED light panelas well as an all-aluminum fairing under the body: combined with 100% electric four-wheel drive, it is ready to meet rough terrain.

Volkswagen ID. Xtreme Concept: 388 electric horsepower
Compared to the ID.4 GTX, the ID concept. The Xtreme was equipped with a high-performance engine on the rear axle, as well as improved engine mapping to gain no less than 88 horsepower compared to the original model. In general, the delivered power is 388 horsepowerhaving increased by 30%.
ID concept. Xtreme also has a specific sound signaturewhich was developed in collaboration with Volkswagen Design and is transmitted to the exterior via a sound generator hidden in the wheel arch.

Inside, we find elements covered in Alcantara, updated seats and orange inserts. It has been designed environmentally: the ID concept indeed. The Xtreme was built from a scrap car for development and testing, and used a used 82kWh battery.
Volkswagen does not yet plan mass sales of such a 100% electric model of the adventurer, but does not rule it out if there is demand: “ID. The Xtreme is designed by Volkswagen enthusiasts, for ID enthusiasts, here in Locarno. We are very much looking forward to hearing how e-mobility enthusiasts react to this model.
