
Clarence House confirmed on Thursday that its new monarch Britannia to be known as King Charles III after her death Queen ElizabethIt is reported by PA Media.
“The death of my dearly beloved mother, the Queen, is a moment of greatest sadness for me,” King Charles said in his first speech after the Queen’s death.
Charles, 73, automatically became king after his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, passed away this afternoon at Balmoral Castle in Scotland. Meanwhile, Charles’s wife, hitherto known as Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, would share his social status as “royal wife”.
“The death of my dearly beloved mother, the Queen, was for me a moment of greatest sorrow,” said King Charles III of Great Britain in his first speech after the death of Elizabeth II.
“Her loss will be deeply felt throughout the country, throughout the Commonwealth and to countless people,” said the eldest son of Elizabeth II, who is in line for the British throne.
He added that both he and his family were relieved by the respect and affection his mother enjoyed throughout her reign.
