
French President Emmanuel Macron and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi discussed the situation around the Zaporizhzhia NPP and expressed support for the mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency, CNN reports, citing News.ro.
In a phone call on Saturday, the two leaders “shared the same request to withdraw Russian troops from the area to guarantee the safety of the nuclear facilities,” the Elysee Palace said in a statement.
Macron also asked Zelensky “about the development of the conflict on the ground and about the needs of Ukraine, which France could contribute to their satisfaction,” the French presidency said.
