
American Psycho and Less Than Zero author Brett Easton Ellis (pictured) is set to release his first novel in 13 years, called Shards. Set in 1980s Los Angeles, the story follows the relationship of a group of wealthy teenagers as a serial killer roams the city on the loose. Shards is expected to release in January 2023.
The oldest writer shortlisted for the Booker Prize for Literature as of yesterday was 87-year-old Alan Garner. The Briton is up for the award with his novel Molasses, and his co-nominees are Percival Everett (Trees), Elizabeth Strout (Oh William!), NoViolet Bulawayo (Fame), Claire Keegan (Such Little Things ”) and Sihan Karunatilaka (“The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida”). The winner will be announced on October 17th.
