Dynamo – Steaua, match count of the 6th stage of Ligue 2, will take place on Friday, September 9, from 21:30 at the National Arena live on Digi Sport 1, Prima Sport 1 and Orange Sport 1.
The most attractive match in the second league is also the most controversial: “Dynamo” – “Steaua” – the “eternal derby” of Romanian football or not?
Dynamo advertises the game as special; instead, Steaua claims that it is the match that arouses the most passions among microbeasts in Romania.
Dynamo are still adrift after their historic relegation in the summer, the club’s first ever, and sit in just 12th place with just six points (two wins and three losses), a long way from a possible playoff rescue.
Red Dogs manager Ovidio Bourke snapped a three-game losing streak last term, but their game is more about fighting for relegation to Ligue 3 than returning to the Super League.
The only reason for fans’ satisfaction is that “Dynamo” managed to get the necessary amount for renting the National Arena, as more than 25,000 spectators are expected to attend the match.
“The fact that we are playing at the National Arena and that we are the hosts will mean a lot because, as I feel at this time, I think there will be a very large crowd.
“Dynamo” fans miss the team, participation in important matches. For us, their contribution in this match will be significant. It can be a special moment for our fans,” said Ovidiu Burke.
Steaua have had a mixed bag of changes this start to the season, but the last two successes in as many stages have lifted the Daniel Opritza-coached group to 7th place with 10 points (three wins, one draw, one loss).
Unfortunately for the red-blue fans, the leaders of MApN and CSA could not make changes in the organization of the club that would allow them to go up, so Steaua is doomed to play for practically nothing.
“Of course it’s a derby! This is Steaua – Dynamo! It doesn’t matter that it’s Ligue 2. Wasn’t there a derby with Rapid in Ligue 4 with 35,000 spectators in the stands? We hope that it will be so now! We have to win all the matches. I am sure that our gallery will cope with the task,” said Daniel Opritza.
Superbet gives odds of 1.85 that both teams will score in the match between Dynamo and Steaua.
