The European body Euro NCAP, which specializes in crash tests and tests of vehicle safety equipment, has published a new series of test results, the fifth for the year.
In particular, we find something new Tesla Model Ywhich rose to the top of the tested models with an overall rating 5 stars. Model Y, manufactured at Tesla’s Gigafactory in Berlin, has 97% adult protection, 87% child protection, 82% vulnerable road user protection and 98% safety systems.
Euro NCAP crash tests: new models received 5 stars
Euro NCAP also tested two new Chinese models from the Great Wall Motor group:Ora the cat and Wey Coffee 01which both received maximum rating of 5 stars. Now Chinese manufacturers are betting heavily on safety in order to conquer the European market.
“In the past we have seen good results from some Chinese manufacturers, but also very poor results. This year, Euro NCAP will test more Chinese cars than ever before, and Great Wall Motor is truly setting the standard for others to follow. Congratulations also to Tesla on the Model Y results, which are truly exceptional and set a new record. Tesla has shown that nothing but the best is good enough for them, and we hope they will continue to achieve this goal in the future.”said Michiel van Ratingen, Secretary General of Euro NCAP.
