
In total, 2,270 Romanians were vaccinated against COVID-19 over the last week, most of them with the third dose – 800 people. Over the past week, 570 people were vaccinated with the first dose, 503 with the second, and 397 with the fourth, according to data published by the National Center for Surveillance and Control of Infectious Diseases of the NIHZ. Also, 36 children were vaccinated with the Pfizer children’s vaccine.
A total of 16,888,110 doses of the vaccine against COVID-19 have been administered in Romania since the start of the vaccination campaign in December 2020.
So far, 8,136,698 people have been vaccinated with the first dose, 8,124,339 with the second, 2,624,854 with the third, and 19,261 with the fourth.
The vaccine preferred by Romanians remains Pfizer (a total of 12,937,749 doses administered in Romania since the start of the vaccination campaign), followed by Johnson&Johnson (2,065,700 doses), Moderna (1,013,359 doses) and AstraZeneca (852,366 doses) .
Vaccination against COVID-19 is currently only possible in the offices of family doctors. This fall, the Ministry of Health may resume the operation of vaccination points in some hospitals.
