Return to the world of “Game of Thrones”

Dragon House
FANTASY (2022)
Creator: Ryan Kondal, George R. R. Martin
InterpretationsCast: Paddy Considine, Matt Smith, Millie Alcock

One of the most anticipated series of recent years is finally back to take us back to the fascinating world of Westeros and George R.R. Martin.

The British author of Game of Thrones even takes an even more active role here to tell (and) on screen (HBO, and in Greece Vodafone TV) the story of the Targaryens, a royal house that dominated the rest for centuries thanks to the power of their terrible dragons.

On the throne we see King Viserys (Paddy Considine), a moderate ruler who, however, faces succession problems as he has no male offspring. The obvious choice is his gruff but terribly flippant brother (Matt Smith), but soon his charismatic daughter Rainira (Millie Alcock) comes into play. Around the three of them revolve dozens of other characters, friends and enemies, who will clash with each other before the final autumn.

The atmosphere and grandeur of Game of Thrones is almost intact here, in a series that also has a higher budget than any of its predecessors. On the other hand, The House of the Dragon is less bold and breakthrough in terms of imagery and dialogue, but in 2022 this is probably to be expected.

The important thing is that there is a journey to another world and much more, as well as intrigue and passion, and fans of impressive battles – and, of course, dragons – will not remain indifferent.

DRAMA (2021)
Directed by: Jacques Audiard
InterpretationsCast: Lucy Zhang, Makita Saba, Noemi Merlan

On the Cinobo platform, we choose the latest film by Jacques Audiard (The Prophet). The French director is trying to paint a portrait of contemporary youth relationships through an original love… square. Emily meets and falls in love with Camille. He, in turn, likes the mysterious and insecure Nora, who simultaneously communicates online with Amber, a girl offering sex services online. Odyar shoots an atmospheric black and white modular story with a modern twist and some very accurate observations. Its main characters do a good job too, and despite some repetitiveness, the ensemble exudes freshness and flows relatively effortlessly until the very end.
