Nick Kyrgios says he changed his mindset to become better on the tennis court
In recent years, Kyrgios admitted that he had psychological difficulties and is now very proud to have moved away from those “dark” places.
“I think when I had mental problems I was very selfish.
I didn’t want to play because I felt sick. Then I looked at the people close to me and how much I had let them down. I didn’t want it to happen again.
I feel that now I am proud of those around me.
There is not much negative to say about me now. Then I was depressed most of the time and feeling sorry for myself. I had to change that.
I have to stay strong and keep pushing others from behind. Positivity is the key” – Nick KyrgiosReuters reports.
In the quarters, Kyrgios will play against Karen Khachanov (27th favorite).
