Jane Fonda: Oscar-winning actress diagnosed with cancer and started chemotherapy

Oscar-winning American actress Jane Fonda announced on Friday that he had been diagnosed with a “well-treated” form of lymphoma and had begun six months of chemotherapy.

The 84-year-old actress, who starred in the final season of the Netflix sitcom Grace & Frankie this year, revealed she was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL) via an Instagram post.

“This is a very treatable cancer. 80% of people survive, so I’m very lucky, ”wrote Jane Fonda. She added that she was also lucky because she had “access to the best doctors and the best treatments.” “I understand, although it hurts, that I am privileged,” said the famous actress.

Fonda’s film and television career spans over six decades, winning Academy Awards for her roles in Vanishing (1971) and The Return (1978). Her latest film “Moving On” will premiere this month at the Toronto Film Festival.

“I started chemo for six months and I’m responding pretty well,” Fonda said. “Trust me, I won’t let any of this get in the way of my climate activism,” said the actress, who has lobbied to fight climate change.
