On September 1, all schools in the Russian-occupied Melitopol were surrounded by the military, and metal detectors were installed at the entrance to each educational institution, Ukrainian Pravda reports.

“Such a September 1 as this year has never happened in Melitopol. All the schools were surrounded by the military, the entrance to the schools was through metal detectors, parents were almost not allowed in,” said Mayor Ivan Fedorov.

According to him, the Russians turned 5 schools in the center of Melitopol into military bases, barracks and ammunition depots of racists, and they “definitely will not work” as educational units.

The Russians pressure parents, threatening fines and termination of parental rights, to push them to send their children to schools where the curriculum has been forcibly changed to a Russian-oriented one.

As “Ukrainian Pravda” reports, Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered armed soldiers to be stationed near every school in the occupied territories of Ukraine.
