
Rebecca Diaconescu finished 4th in the 50m backstroke final at the World Junior Swimming Championships in Lima, Peru.
The Romanian finished the final with a time of 28.94 seconds, not far from the podium (00.01 seconds).
The test platform looked like this:
1. Lora Komorotsi (Hungary) – 28.51 s
2. Aimee Nagaoka (Japan) – 28.70 s
3. Sarah Curtis (Italy) – 28.93 s.
Also last night, Bianca Costea qualified for the 50m freestyle final with a second time of 25.43, while Andra Gorecki stopped in the 100m butterfly semi-final, placing 13th.

David Popovici reached the final of the 100m freestyle at the World Junior Swimming Championships on Saturday, becoming the fastest swimmer (48.17) in the semi-finals of the event in Lima, Peru.
Patrick Sebastien Dinou also made it to the last action, after our athlete finished second in the first semi-final (50.22 – fifth time overall).
The 100m freestyle grand final will take place on Monday, September 5, from 02:02 (Romanian time).
