The Swedish manufacturer continues simplify its rangenow only with 3 or 4 configurations depending on the model, enhanced by two exterior styling packages: ‘Dark’ or ‘Chrome’, the latter now reserved for plug-in hybrid engines.
Volvo now offers in its catalog exclusively electrified engines, i.e. micro-hybrid, battery hybrid or 100% electric offerings. Thus, the Gothenburg-based company is abandoning 100% heat engines to become a 100% electric brand by 2030.
Volvo: varies between 60 and 90 ranges
In the “60” and “90” hybrid models have a new 6.4kWh on-board charger (three-phase), which reduces the charging time compared to the previous model by 3.4 kWh (single-phase). A three-phase Type 2 Mode 3 32A charging cable 6 meters long is now available as an accessory: it is also compatible with 100% electric models.
sedan Volvo S60 abandons the B3 micro-hybrid petrol engine and now offers the entry-level B4 micro-hybrid petrol engine. SUV Volvo XC60 ditches the B5 AWD micro-hybrid diesel engine. On its part, the station wagon Volvo V60 available with the B3 and B4 micro-hybrid petrol engines, the Recharge T6 AWD hybrid version, and the Recharge T8 AWD version with Polestar Engineered trim.

Volvo: personnel changes
Volvo also launches a new metallic color Mist Gray Metallic, which is standard on the Volvo S60, V60, XC60 and XC90. The Swedish manufacturer also standardizes the prices of non-metallic, metallic and exclusive metallic paints.
For its micro-hybrid and hybrid models in the 60 and 90 series, Volvo now offers standard all-season rubber “Recharge” (available according to the diameter of the selected rims), which simplifies the life of its customers, allowing them to drive all year round with the same tires.
Volvo: changes to the 40 model range
Regarding the SUV Volvo XC40it now has two micro-hybrid engines B3 (163 hp) and B4 (197 hp) and two battery hybrid units Recharge T4 (211 hp) and Recharge T5 (262 hp).
T2 gasoline engine disappears about it is completely out of the catalog: thus, Volvo now offers a range of 100% electrified cars and at the same time abandons manual transmissions. Finally, personalization options for the XC40 are now enriched with the appearance of a new body color: Blue cloud.
