Comprehensive plan with more than 30 projects for Thessaloniki 2030, worth several billion euros, will be presented next week by the government, said the Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakisafter the completion of the meetings that he had with representatives of industrial and scientific bodies and elected officials of self-government, in connection with the 86th TIF.
Mr. Mitsotakis made clear “the government’s determination to implement a project plan the likes of which Thessaloniki has never seen in the past, so that in 2030 Thessaloniki truly becomes the city that its residents, students and investors who will come deserve.” invest”.
This plan notes that it includes activities in four main areas. In infrastructure, health and welfare, entrepreneurship and innovation, as well as renovations and interventions that improve the cultural and sporting culture of TEI Thessaloniki in general and provide access to green and recreational areas.
“Thank you very much, we had another very productive discussion, given the regular preparations we make every year before our annual presence at the Thessaloniki International Fair, very detailed discussions with the commercial, economic, social and educational institutions of the city. And, of course, we also had the opportunity to study in detail the development of a state plan specifically for the regional branch of Thessaloniki. This is a set of many, different, parallel initiatives that gradually change and improve the city and the life of its inhabitants for the better.
I won’t detail the full scope of the speeches because we are discussing over 30 important projects that will eventually make up Thessaloniki 2030. This form that I am showing you will be presented in detail by the competent authorities at the beginning of next week and the relevant information will be available to everyone on the website of the Ministry of Macedonia – Thrace.
For example, we are talking about intervention in four main policy areas: intervention in infrastructure, health and welfare, entrepreneurship and innovation, as well as in reconstruction and intervention, which significantly improve Thessaloniki in terms of culture, sports and in terms of access to green spaces and recreation. .
It will take me, my dear Minister, at least an hour to review all the drafts in detail. I will not do it. I will only talk about projects like the metro and I think that all the people of Thessaloniki should now be absolutely sure that this project will be completed and become a reality. You know what great difficulties we had to overcome. Thessaloniki will have both a modern metro and an old one at Venizelos station, as we promised.
I will mention the very important trestle project, which was purely a government initiative in terms of its maturation and selection of the contractor, and of course a number of activities in the port of Thessaloniki, as well as many other road projects in the wider area of Thessaloniki.
In terms of health and well-being, our decision for a new cancer hospital has come true. We know the area close to two important hospitals in Thessaloniki and we are very fast in carrying out relevant investigations.
In matters relating to entrepreneurship and innovation, let me focus in particular on the transformation of the informal industrial concentration in Kalohori, as well as the very high speed at which the Thess INTEC project is developing.
And finally, with regard to the issues of reconstruction and interventions in culture and sports, two important stadiums in Thessaloniki: the completion of the Presidential Decree for the PAOK Stadium and the very rapid maturation of the double reconstruction by moving the Ari Stadium to a piece of land. OAED and significant regeneration in the old Charilaos area.
All this, my Minister, will be presented in detail and confirm the government’s determination to implement a project plan the likes of which Thessaloniki has never known in the past, so that in 2030 Thessaloniki will truly be the city that its inhabitants deserve, so that its visitors, its students, investors who come to invest in this beautiful city.
Thanks a lot”.
