Arina Sabalenko reached the third round of US Open 2022, the athlete from Belarus managed a spectacular comeback in the match against Kaya Kanepi (34 WTA), score 2-6, 7-6(8), 6-4.

Down 6-2, 5-1 against one of the most uncomfortable opponents on the circuit, Sabalenka (the 6th favorite) managed to win the return match on a tie-break (10-8), saving two match points (7-6 and 8-7).

Arina prevailed in the decisive set thanks to the only break (made in the fifth game).

In the next round, Aryna Sabalenko will meet the Frenchwoman Clara Burel (131 WTA, based on qualification), who has already won five times in Flushing Meadows.
