
On the first day of September, the Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix Academy announced 90 watches that will compete for the award for the best watch, each in its own category, for 2022. One of them will also receive the Golden Index Grand Prix. (Grand Prix “Aiguille d’Or”) as the best watch creation of the year. These are the most beautiful men’s and women’s models, chronographs, divers, iconic designer models, mechanical masterpieces, intricate complications and superb pieces of art by famous houses and independent designers. The selection of 90 nominations by the judges of the Academy was made from 254 hours that applied for participation in the Grand Prix. The Academy is made up of 650 prestigious members from various watchmaking sectors (designers, technicians, independent creators, company executives, journalists, collectors, etc.). 22ndin The Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) will take place on 10 November 2022 at the Théâtre du Léman in Geneva.
Meanwhile, the nominated watches are traveling the world and will first be exhibited in New Delhi, India (October 8 and 9), Casablanca, Morocco (October 20-23), and then travel to Geneva, where they will be displayed at the Museum. Rat from 2 to 20 November. After the awards ceremony, the watch will travel to Zurich, and from 1 to 4 December will be exhibited in New York.
