“The Timișoara Society has drawn attention with concern and sadness to the positions increasingly approaching the AUR ideology of Mr. Robert Turcescu, winner of the 2005 “Alexandra Indriesh” award.

Mr. Turcescu’s attendance at the AUR leader’s wedding was an unexpected and disappointing opportunity to discover that Mr. Turcescu had expressed, covertly and overtly, his sympathies for an extremist leader and an extremist political formation, which are the antithesis of the values ​​espoused by the Timisoara Society. Such behavior, unacceptable to us, reinforces the stupor created by his self-incrimination in 2014, left in the toxic ambiguity of being an undercover officer,” Societatea Timişoara said in a press release.

After these facts, the Society of Timisoara revokes the award given to the journalist in 2005.
