The Senate and the Chamber of Deputies begin the second regular parliamentary session of this year on Thursday. The President of the Chamber of Deputies, Marcel Cholaku, and the Acting President of the Senate, Alina Gorghiu, decided to convene the plenary sessions of the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies at 11:00.

According to the program, the Permanent Bureau of the Chamber of Deputies, according to the Senate, will meet in the old composition at 9:30 a.m. in separate meetings. Also, parliamentary groups will meet at 10:00, writes Agerpres.

Plenary sessions of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate will be held separately from 11:00 a.m.

In accordance with legal norms, on the first day of the parliamentary session at the plenary session of each chamber, members of the permanent Bureau are elected – vice-presidents, secretaries and quaestors of the Chamber of Deputies, with the exception of the president, who is elected at the beginning of the legislative body.

The election of the leaders of both chambers is carried out on the proposal of the parliamentary groups, according to their weight, according to the political configuration of the Chamber of Deputies, according to the Senate and the negotiations of the group leaders. Lists of candidates proposed for permanent positions are fully subject to voting by the Chamber of Deputies, respectively the Senate, and are approved by an open vote by the majority of deputies or senators present.

At the same time, a meeting of the newly united permanent bureaus of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate is also scheduled for Thursday at 9:00 a.m., after the completion of the parliamentary election procedures, a joint plenary session is set. leadership of both chambers.

At the end, there will be a meeting of the permanent Bureau with a new composition, at which the agenda and work schedule for the next week will be determined.

Among the priorities of the parliamentary session is a package of laws on education, as well as amendments to the laws on justice, the Criminal and Criminal Procedure Codes.

At the same time, the priority of the session is the adoption of a package of security laws, PNL President and Prime Minister Nicolae Chuke said.

Deputies and senators should also decide on the request submitted by President Klaus Iohannis for reconsideration of the law on the protection of whistleblowers in the public interest.

The Parliament will also discuss measures that the Government will approve by an extraordinary resolution regarding the compensation of energy prices.

Several social projects are planned, which should be discussed in the government coalition and can be implemented in the parliament. In this context, the UDMR proposed a project on providing state aid to those who heat with firewood.

PSD proposed to increase the minimum pension, the size of the pension point and the minimum wage for the economy to 3,000 lei.

USR announced that it would file a simple motion against Energy Minister Virgil Popescu on the first day of the parliamentary session.
