Ukrainian forces recorded “successes” in three areas of the Russian-controlled area PeninsulaThis was announced today by a Ukrainian regional official, two days after Kyiv announced the start of a counteroffensive to retake the territory.
Yury Sobolevsky, deputy head of the Kherson regional council, told Public Television that Ukrainian troops had made progress in the Kherson, Berislav and Kakhov directions, but declined to provide details.
“Now is the time to support our armed forces… Now is not the time to talk about the concrete successes of our children,” he said, echoing the Ukrainian military’s insistence that information about the attack be almost completely turned off.
Sobolefksiy urged Ukrainians to support their armed forces “by all possible means”, as a large amount of resources is used for the offensive.
“Now drones and ammunition are used there as consumables,” he said.
