Over the past 24 hours, 3,097 new cases of COVID-19 have been registered, which is 949 less than the previous day, as well as 36 deaths, according to data released by the Ministry of Health on Wednesday.

612 patients are re-infected, in whom a positive result has passed more than 90 days after the first infection. In contrast to newly confirmed cases, 156 people tested positive again after retesting patients who had already tested positive.

The most diseases were registered in Bucharest – 463, Timisoara – 178, Constanta – 172, Cluj – 163. Less than 100 new cases of COVID-19 were registered in 33 counties.

2,568 patients were hospitalized with COVID-19, which is 149 less than the previous day. Also, 208 people were hospitalized in ATZ, which is 11 less than the previous day. Of the 208 patients admitted to the HTI, 174 are unvaccinated. Out of the total number of hospitalized 318 minors, 314 are in wards, which is 34 less than the previous day, and 4 are in intensive care, 1 more than the previous day.

By Wednesday, 66,709 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 had died.

Over the last day, 36 deaths were recorded (22 men and 14 women). Among the 36 deceased, 1 was registered in the age category of 20-29 years, 1 in the age category of 30-39 years, 5 in the age category of 50-59 years, 3 in the age category of 60-69 years, 9 in the age category of 70-79 years and 17 in the age category over 80 years old. Among the dead, 35 had concomitant diseases and 10 were vaccinated.

Over the last day, 4,057 OT-PCR tests were conducted (2,445 – according to the diagnosis and medical protocol and 1,612 – according to the request) and 15,737 express antigen tests. To date, 13,426,045 RT-PCR tests and 11,237,746 rapid antigen tests have been processed at the national level.
