A new attack on Athens with the false claim that they used the Russian system S-300 to “lock” the Turkish F-16 he launched Tayyip Erdogan. In fact, he attracted NATO, while linking the issue with the intention of Greece to purchase the F-35, as well as with the “no” of Congress for the purchase F-16 from Ankara, from S-400 which he bought in Moscow.
“Greece is not like us. Recent events have revealed the truth to everyone. Jamming the radar of our F-16 aircraft by the Russian S-300 is hostile behavior. Especially if this plane is on duty NATO, which means that it was directed directly against NATO. In fact, he challenged NATO and its allies, not us,” the Turkish president said. Although immediately after that he hastened to add: “I wonder how America itself will react to the activation of the S-300 systems. We would not use the F-35 and S-400 in the same system. No one should doubt that Greece, which knows no borders, will commit this folly. The question is not in the joint use of Russian aviation and American systems, but in Turkey. The only point is for us to be given the planes we demand as a token of friendship with our country.”
Evros
With the phrase “we are experiencing the peak period of the Turkish provocation” and pointing out that “all evidence indicates an escalation of the attack and the implementation of a plan to instrumentalize unfortunate people”, Minister of Civil Protection T. Theodorikakos yesterday at a special meeting of the parliamentary commission, described the situation on our eastern borders and especially on Evros.
The Minister for Citizens’ Protection noted that “since the beginning of the year, the police have prevented the entry of 154,102 illegal immigrants”, adding that “in August alone, 36,386 illegal immigrants tried to enter Greece through the land border at Evros.” In this context, he announced, on the one hand, “the extension of the fence along the entire length of the Greek-Turkish border on Evros” and, on the other hand, the adoption of measures to “update the electronic surveillance system with the most modern available”.
