​This weekend, Sibiu will host an event with a special charm: film projections from boats floating on the lake. On September 2 and 3, on a huge screen located between the windmills in the heart of the Astra Museum, powerful documentaries on current topics, awarded at prestigious international festivals, will be shown.

On Friday night, starting at 8:00 p.m., the public is expected to board boats and pedal boats to the tunes of the extraordinary Zece Prăjini brass band, before strolling across the lake to the screen between the windmills. This will be an evening of Rivers by Jennifer Peedom and Joseph Nizeti (Australia, 2022), productions about rivers from all continents and their relationship with people. The film features the voice of Willem Dafoe, satellite, drone and helicopter footage, as well as a soundtrack performed by the Australian Chamber Orchestra. The River, released this summer, was named Best International Documentary at the Florida Film Festival.

On Saturday night, another movie that will make viewers think and test their imaginations: Who Made You? Irisa Härma (Finland, 2019), awarded with two important awards (the best documentary film at the Raindance Film Festival, 2019). and the “KI Science Film Award” at the Science Film Festival of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, 2019). The film takes viewers to the intersection of the world of people and artificial intelligence.
